Review on Zalman Performa Performance Powerful Included by Wiktor Popiel ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

Do not be lazy, read the instructions carefully - even though it is in English, everything is described in detail and in simple words, and besides, with pictures :) They say that the problem is to install on AMD - I don’t know, I didn’t check it. Mounting on the BackPlate mastered for the first time, after reading the instructions, there were no problems with the installation. There are dissatisfied people who say that the instruction is UG, that the fasteners are bad, that it is inconvenient to install - do not believe it - these are lazy people who cannot read, or their hands do not grow from the right place. Yes, the hex slots on the screws turn under the hex, but you don’t need to tighten it with dope - this is not a car wheel. Mounting the fans themselves with brackets seemed not very convenient, but it depends on the curvature of the hands, and the fan does not need to be removed every day. Yes, when installing the BackPlate, I had to remove the motherboard, since there is no corresponding window in the case, BUT! this needs to be done once, and in my case, it was necessary to re-lay the wires so that nothing in the small case would interfere with the operation of the fans, so removing the motherboard was useful. If you like to periodically clean the dust in the case and change the thermal paste, then you will not need to remove the motherboard again in order to remove the heatsink.

Pros
  • Compact, Fits perfectly in MiniTower`e InWin IW-EMR020 next to the MSI N660 Twin Frozr graphics card At first I thought to take optim, but in the store I took the moneyback on thecomndition, if it does not fit and was satisfied. Itcomols well (the i5-2500k stone is not overclocked), the temperature of the hottestcomre during stress testing in AIDA64 did not exceed 48 degrees and this at acomoler speed of 700RPM! I think that if you remove the fancommpletely, then the picture will not change much. Another plus is that you can install a second fan on the hood (for those who don’t know, I’ll explain: the main fan blows into the radiator, and the second one blows out of the radiator, i. E. the fans blow in the same direction, and not at each other, as many people think) , but I think this is relevant only for especially burning and for decently overclocked processors. A good thermal paste is included, although it is only enough for one installation, so packaging in a bag is appropriate
Cons
  • The fan is noisy, but not critical, i. E. at maximum speed, an unobtrusive rumbling clearly appears, but it is not particularly annoying, besides, I lowered the speed to 700 - silence I do not consider it a serious drawback, but I did not see rubber linings for the fan - and figs with them, they are not needed. And there was no fastening for a plastic clip for AMD sockets - in this case it makes sense to fasten it through the BackPlate, since the mass of the radiator is decent and standard AMD latches may not hold this unit. It is not very convenient that in order to tighten the fasteners, the fan must be removed from the radiator, but this is not so scary.
