Just received and assembled today. It comes flat and disassembled into 3 pieces with hardware and 2 tools for assembly. It definitely feels solid and I think it will come in handy. The mounting screws are in notches in the wooden slats that hold everything together - they've been drilled to wildly different depths, so the screw threads protrude more at a particularly deep one. This way you get a nice countersunk head assembly when viewed from two sides and protruding bolt threads when viewed from the other two sides. This is really a cosmetic thing as the protruding threads shouldn't cause any problems, but with more consistent drilling and some small hardware upgrades this can be fixed. If this item cost β¬20 I would expect it to be what it is, but for double that I would wish for better workmanship and better fitting hardware. I've also noticed that corrosion is already growing on both the mounting hardware and the already installed bolts holding the blocks. Again completely cosmetic, not even noticeable from above or when the item is in use. Hardware issues aside, it looks pretty good in use. About the ease of use. The height is just enough to be useful and not so high that it's uncomfortable to stand or camp on. My house is very small and there are things tucked away against every wall, mostly up to the ceiling. In many cases only a small gain is ideal. I noticed that he was swaying slightly while standing on a stool. It might just be my kitchen floor as it has changed from one place to another but when you look at the assembled stool the cross braces don't touch the top center and the assembly leaves room for it to move around a bit. -even. Of course, the wobble was minimal and the stride was big enough to still appear fairly stable. I would recommend after initial assembly, stand on a level, solid surface (e.g. concrete) and slightly loosen/tighten all screws with the load on the step stool. I plan to do this when I get the chance. That should fix it!
