Sometimes it has to be learned HARD, and while I consider myself a pretty good "troubleshooter" I wouldn't rack my brains the FIRST time. ' and am wondering why my newly purchased (front) fan switch for our 1998 GMC Safari (like the Chevy Astro) still didn't work on 'HIGH'. It seems that this "resistor switch" is the culprit in some cases as to why all 4 fan speeds are not working. Replaced this switch (moderate difficulty as it didn't want to just "slip" and had to be removed first Windshield washer reservoir/radiator overflow reservoir) and now I can use all 4 speeds again. I just wish we didn't need the High setting that often, but when you're at 103+ a few days in a row and you're riding a Box on Wheels, you need all the power you can get from a blower!
