My 2006 Ford Explorer XLT had a problem shifting from park to reverse that was fixed. It's amazing how easy I can switch now! Installation instructions: First disconnect the battery. Then remove the oval plastic cover around the switch. Then unscrew the cup holder section. Then the difficult part. Use a long screwdriver to create a wedge between the switch on the left and the channel on the right. You really have to bend the air duct a bit to get the needle nose pliers in there. Remove the old part and replace it with a new one. In general, the repair is easy and took about an hour.
