I have five lamps under a dimmer cabinet. With the standard halogen, I had to visit Home Depot about every two months. I switched to this xenon bulb. As lightbulbs burn out, I went back to my story and realized that I had used six lightbulbs in the last 24 months. Each of them lasted 4000 hours? Assuming I use the lamps six hours a day, they should last 666 days, about two years. But like I said, it's more like 2000 hours. However, these bulbs last significantly longer than conventional halogen bulbs. If the packaging no longer says 4,000 hours, but around 2,000, I would give this product five stars. However, this lamp is superior to commercially available halogen lamps! ---- Interestingly, low-voltage incandescent bulbs last much, much longer. So far I haven't had to replace either of them in my case in about six years!
