my house is 40 years old, it had recessed lights, can lights. the old lights had brackets that were able to be used with these. They come with 2 small metal clips you screw into your exiting can. I did two that way until I realized the brackets were there just folded flat. the light has a color switch from yellow to white. i picked the middle position for an off white color. The light surface is close to the ceiling level so the light disperses better than the old lights that were more recessed. I Bought the 10 pack, i only need 7 to 8 of them. the LED is not replaceable so you need to get more now to make sure you can replace it if it burns out at some time.
