The light is an added bonus as I was just trying to find a clip for my GoPro to use on the side of the table. I've knocked my desktop tripod over a couple of times, and while the GoPro will likely survive a 6-inch drop, getting it all right was a challenge. This is especially cumbersome when you're chatting or live streaming with someone. This clip solved the problem and is easy to get out of the way. No more compensation. Anyone who owns a GoPro 8 with a media module knows how heavy the power and video cables can feel when trying to balance a smaller tripod. Just get it and the problem will be gone completely. The camera is now away from the table and can now hang above the table, which gives me better use of the front camera. was too much, I was able to use the side mount and then bend that mount to make the OSMO stand straight. Again, this might seem like a simple problem, but a typical tripod either uses a floor mount or requires the OSMO to be mounted on the side. Unfortunately, the charging port is on the bottom. So if you're recording for long periods, you'll need to take breaks and let it charge. but no more, as this leaves the bottom bracket open, thus making the charging port accessible. Some complaints as I have a few. The clip should come with a piece of cardboard between the clips. This will better protect the foam inside the clip as I had one clip partially inside the other which broke the foam padding during shipping. I have a lot of styrofoam so not sending it back but someone else might not notice and damage what it's attached to. Keep that in mind. Another complaint is the use of soft metal at the junction of the bendable part and the clamp. It's a very soft metal and you will bend it, not really a pliable material unless you hold it in place somehow. I grabbed the post a few inches higher and flexed the stand exactly how I wanted it, but don't expect this thing to flex anywhere below. They will break the post clean. I don't know why the manufacturer didn't use as strong a metal to hold everything together as inside the foldable stand itself; this is bad execution. Luckily I don't plan on changing the setup too much and for the price just having two setups would be better than moving one. The camera mount is a quick release with an action camera mount. This is the standard GoPro mount used with many accessories including my helmet mount and chest plate mount; If you have GoPro accessories, you will find that this stand works great with them. The flexible metal part is actually stronger than the clamp. As I tried to bend the stand to where I needed it, I noticed that the clip itself was under a lot of downward pressure, causing the top and center to rub against the surface it was attached to. I attached it to a solid wood shelf at the time, so there will be slight marks if the clip rubs hard against the surface. Which brings me back to the foam pad. If something were done to protect it better and the lining was larger than the clip and not in it, this would be the perfect item. With production cutting so many corners so close to the finish line, I won't pretend this thing will be with me in a few years; it feels cheap in all the wrong places, but the price is good enough to forgive most of those shortcomings. I wish it cost a few bucks more and got some steel reinforced mounting posts instead of what I think are aluminum. Will keep an eye on the manufacturer and will buy more in the future to see if they improve their quality lately. They could become a Fifine company if they took that last step. Anyone unfamiliar with Fifine should check out some of their basic blenders for their price and build quality. Other manufacturers should pay attention to this. I'm not affiliated with any of the companies, I'm just posting it there. The ring light is actually very good. It can be set to daylight (cool white), warm (yellowish), and a third option perfect for simulating an incandescent light (orange). The intensity of each can be adjusted and the amount of light you get from the small ring is amazing. My biggest complaint about the ring light is how small it is. The point of the ring light is to go all the way around the camera so you have an even light from the side of the camera; If the light is too small to fit my GoPro, it's too small. Everything else is perfect, but you want the light to be near the camera and not around the lens as it's almost impossible to get a clear shot. Because the ring light stand is much longer than the camera stand, it has much more impact, so small movements can cause the light to start shaking. This would be very noticeable if your camera were trying to photograph through a small hole in the light. Keep this in mind, because a ring light is a good light, but not a good ring light; It still worked perfectly for what I wanted and it was only used to balance the amount of light on my face for the camera. A larger ring lamp would be more useful than a 24 inch stand (guess) that lights a small bulb.
