Review on ⚡️ Cisco SG110D-05 Unmanaged Switch: 5 Gigabit Ethernet Ports, Lifetime Protection - SG110D-05-NA by David Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If applicable, NO other. rescue function! Cisco Exceeds Expectations!

Revain buyers, if you need an unmanaged switch, spend money on this switch. This switch has loop detection and is REQUIRED. That's why. We've had terrible internet with Xinity for quite some time. Numerous visits from technicians, phone calls, endless trouble. Our previous switch was fine, but to rule it out I bought this switch not even knowing it had loop detection. or what it was. In any case, as soon as I plugged it in and made all connections, the port containing the Xfinity Gateway/Router started blinking amber. This means there is a loop. Cisco Support (Lorenzo) is not all good. He tirelessly helped me to solve this problem. Despite all of the testing done by Xfinity, and despite the fact that we had a brand new router/gateway, the router/gateway itself was causing network loops - an issue that, like everything else, went 100% unnoticed. ready. Because this switch has loop detection built in, you'll know right away if you have loops! You can test this yourself by taking a patch cord and plugging it into two ports at the same time (it doesn't hurt). You will see both ports blink amber when this is done. Our previous Switch didn't have this feature, meaning we were flying blind. Whoever said Cisco doesn't answer questions doesn't have to have called there. In addition to answering questions, they logged in remotely via Webex (with my permission), ran a packet sniffer, and analyzed the situation. They were determined to SOLVE this and not just close the ticket. Cisco was great. A little "corporate" feel as you have to create a support profile and then follow a few steps, but when they assign it to an engineer they don't mess around. I give this affordable unmanaged switch 5 stars. and Lorenzo from Cisco 10. A tip: the device doesn't come with a legend so you know what the LEDs on the front mean: Here's why they gave me: Blinking amber means there's a loop (BAD !) Traffic moves under 1G (okay, but it shows up if you have devices that aren't gigabit but fast ethernet or something like that). there is a cable on it. If you have gigabit devices, they should be solid green and FLASHING green (left and right LEDs per port). All my gigabit devices are autodetected, unlike another review, as are my fast ethernet devices. I didn't have to do anything on any of my devices. Setup was quick and easy, but now LOOP detection matters to me! You will love this switch!
