I've owned Hario Skerton and also have a Javapresse grinder. Both of those take a few minutes to grind 28g of coffee for French Press (300+ rotations). The JX-PRO grinds the same amount in a matter of seconds (60 or so rotations).I like that I can dial up a very wide range of grinding options, from Turkish to French Press. And it feels heavy, well made. The plastic top is a small quibble as well as the high stabilizing point, where loading it can result in coffee beans bouncing off and either on the kitchen table or the floor. Load it slowly and it should do fine.I was able to produce an amazing cup of coffee this morning using the James Hoffmann French Press technique (look it up on Youtube). I set my grind level to medium (38 rotations), put in 30g of coffee (I waited until my water was almost finished boiling before starting to grind the beans (it's that fast). The coffee produced was amazing! No hint of sludge or grimy taste at the bottom of the cup, no bitterness. It's recommended by them to clean the unit at least once/month. There's quite a few moving parts and the zero calibration can be somewhat tricky. However, once I master the calibration, I'm sure I'll enjoy this unit for a long time.
