Type of review

I was debating across several different electric grinder models, but seems like you have to spend a fortune to get something that doesn't sound like a jet engine. Also, the more expensive grinders seem to be centered around espresso, which I'm not interested in. I do Aeropress and the occasional French press, but honestly have really grown to dislike French press due to the sediment.Ultimately I decided on this grinder based on the really positive reviews, and the fact that I'm the only coffee…

Pros
  • Great for espresso beginnersGood uniformity and easy to use and adjust
Cons
  • Depending on the user's strength, it may require some effort to grind beans

A very good hand grinder

I upgraded from Hario Mini-Slim (v1) to this, but it's so good I'll probably also replace my Gaggia MDF with it.Pros:- full-aluminum body, which makes it a bit heavy- burr profile ensures extremely fast and very consistent grind- bearings are buttery smooth, keeping shaft very stable and grinding experience smooth- very fine grind adjustmentCons:- kinda heavy, which is expected of full-aluminum construction- putting coffee beans in is a bit of a hassle- suggested grind settings are way too fine

Pros
  • China
Cons
  • May not be as portable as other manual coffee grinders due to its size and weight

Best Hand Grinder I've Owned

This is the first 'high end' hand grinder Ive tried and have not been disappointed at all. You can read about it on their website to learn about the materials and how its constructed. I can say it is very sturdy and fully expect it to last years. The grind increments are what make it very capable of multiple grind types. I use it for turkish and pour-over. The turkish grind will take a bit more work but it produces a nice powder as expected. One note; Ive seen a couple of reviews comparing this

Pros
  • 1Zpresso
Cons
  • Requires some practice to master the art of manual grinding

Love this grinder - my new review

I love this grinder. I use it to make pour over, and it really upped my coffee game. Prior to purchasing this grinder, I was using a low quality electric one from a big box store. Once you figure out the grind settings, this grinder is so easy to use and clean. The grind setting has a dial with 10 numbered increments on it. Each increment has 4 more divisions within it. For the light roast beans I buy, I'm using a setting of 3.3 for Chemex (or 33, depending on how you think about it). This means

Pros
  • Just grinded my first beans for espresso. Im impressed with the setting.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean and maintain

This is not a cheap grinder, but it is so very good. You can adjust the grind from very coarse, suitable for a french press or similar, down through every way of making coffee, to espresso-fine grind, to turkish coffee fine grind, and beyond. You can make coffee flour if you so desire. The grind can be varied in very small steps, so you can dial into exactly how you want it. And the output is even and consistent. The handle is comfortable. Without beans in it, it turns completely effortlessly…

Pros
  • The burr can get stuck if you screw the bottom too tightly.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for larger batches of coffee

Same as others saying about this

Reviewed well by many coffee lovers and this is very good product. Only one thing I had a little problem was I had to find YouTube video to find how to setup grinding level, otherwise I am very happy about this product after I used for a while. Range of grinding level is very wide, probably more than all you need, to get finer level is quite exercise (grinding handle gets little harder, but doable) but quality of ground coffee is very happy. I had electric grinder before but this can adjust…

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact design makes it easy to store and transport
Cons
  • May not produce a consistent grind size if not calibrated correctly

I really enjoy using this grinder.

This is my first hand grinder. So I suppose i dont really have a benchmark to compare quality of this grinder. But best I can tell its solidly made, and plus its a real joy to use! I enjoy taking it apart to clean it too. The included bristle brush for cleaning is a really nice touch (its a good quality brush!).

Pros
  • 2.14 pounds
Cons
  • May not be ideal for those with a busy lifestyle due to the time it takes to manually grind coffee

Works well in my review

I have yet to try and clean it thoroughly because that is very daunting. However, it works great and is easy to grind. Nicely balanced. I do use that trick of a couple drops of water mixed in with your beans before adding to hopper. That really eliminates static. The brush provided is awesome with the two types of bristles. I'm finding it far superior to my old electric burr grinder.

Pros
  • Durable construction materials ensure long-lasting durability and reliability
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who enjoy experimenting with different brewing methods as it may not produce some grind sizes

The 1Zpresso JX-PRO Manual Coffee Grinder is amazing.

The 1Zpresso JX-PRO changed my coffee experience completely for the better. Wonderful grinder, with very consistent grind quality, easy to use as well as fast. Perfect for my Moka-Pots and French Press too. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • Great quality and easy to use. Excellent grind size and consistency.
Cons
  • Can be pricey compared to other manual grinders on the market

Best Value good for me

You don't really have a reason to buy another hand grinder if you get this one. It'll last a really long time, i've ground as fine as turkish to as coarse as drip. pretty much any other 10 dollar hand grinder can spew out some coarse french press grind if you like coffee that way. for everything else, this grinder stays uniform and very fast. i use the little brush on the burrs when i switch coffee beans, otherwise just keep using it and coffee oils don't stay on the burrs long enough to effect

Pros
  • Ability to grind a wide range of beans allows for versatility in coffee choices
Cons
  • May not be ideal for those who are always on the go and need a quick cup of coffee

Built like a tank. And can grind coffee very, very fast

I've owned Hario Skerton and also have a Javapresse grinder. Both of those take a few minutes to grind 28g of coffee for French Press (300+ rotations). The JX-PRO grinds the same amount in a matter of seconds (60 or so rotations).I like that I can dial up a very wide range of grinding options, from Turkish to French Press. And it feels heavy, well made. The plastic top is a small quibble as well as the high stabilizing point, where loading it can result in coffee beans bouncing off and either…

Pros
  • ☕DURABLE and STABILITY BURR– 48mm conical burr makes greater grinding efficiency. Internal fixing between the burr and central shaft, no more wobbly burr comeing loose. Consistency of performance grind.
Cons
  • Durability may be an issue over time

Wonderful grinder, took some getting used to.

Seems like an excellent product so far. Was upset that either Revain or previous owner had somehow bashed in the edge on top where the crank and beans are placed, and I could not take off the crank lever to put beans in. I was able to bend it back after many attempts but the thing is built like a tank. Still dialing in, haven't used for espresso yet.

Pros
  • Truly a PITA to calibrate
Cons
  • It may not grind beans consistently if not calibrated properly

One of the best hand grinders

Beautifully made hand grinder. Large and robust. The burs allow for very rapid grinding (30-45 seconds) for espresso grind. Unfortunately, that same speed results in some effort being required to crank the grinder. That's a tradeoff I am very willing to make. Fit and finish are excellent. Clean-up is very easy. Loading beans may require a quick swipe with an espresso brush to get the beans to fall into the chamber. Adjustment is super easy. First day I owned it I stripped it down completely and

Pros
  • 8.54 x 6.38 x 2.87 inches
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who need to grind a lot of coffee at once

Great small batch coffee grinder.

Watch a instructive video before you try disassembling. High quality, small, handheld burr coffee grinder. Just what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustments to get the perfect grind

Near perfect hand grinder for espresso

***UPDATE 4/2021***I had some issues with my grinder after just over a year of use. The knob started to bind during use and eventually failed (pops off and was filled with metal shavings).I contacted 1Zpresso directly and provided photos of the issue. The customer service was prompt and courteous. They helped me source replacement parts from their website, a new knob and handle. The items arrived in three days to the west coast from Taiwan. I must note that the new handle and knob are of a new…

Pros
  • Exceptionally precise grinding mechanism ensures consistent quality with every use
Cons
  • Can be messy when grinding beans

Excellent product and customer service support

The support team at 1Zpresso went above and beyond in helping me solve a problem with my grinder that was of my own making. I've dealt with a number of large and small coffee companies in the past, and I must say that I'm deeply impressed by the team at 1Zpresso. They have a wonderful product that is truly bombproof. They stand behind everything they make to an extent that you don't see much these days, which speaks to the pride and confidence they have in their products. I highly recommend…

Pros
  • Portable design allows for on-the-go coffee preparation no matter where you are
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who prefer automated devices

Stunning build quality- great grinder

My son suggested we get one of these for our espresso maker. I was extremely impressed with the build quality, right out of the gate. My husband is a machinist, so I could see how beautifully engineered this grinder is. It is a dream to use, too. To make an espresso requires just a few seconds of grinding. There are about 40 different grind sizes, so lots of opportunity for experimentation. So far we have figured the settings for pour over and espresso. We love how easy it is to fill. The handle

Pros
  • ☕ PRODUCT GUARANTEES - The burr was calibrated and fixed in place by the 1Zpresso team, ensuring no wobbly parts or burrs that come loose as time goes on. Estimated grind approx 100-200KG by general use. Includes a one-year limited warranty, you will definitely get 100% customer support.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who prefer a finer grind for espresso

Excellent Quality - my new review

Had a lower cost ceramic burr grinder for a few years, which worked well, but the quality of this grinder is exceptional.well worth the money. Should produce great results for several years.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with mobility issues or arthritis

Good Grinder with Inconvenient Dialling and Griding

Like:1. Solid and sturdy design.2. Heavy and feels well built.Dislike:1. adjustment dial numbers and dots are not readable except in bright light.2. adjustment dial is small and awkward to adjust the grind setting. (I am a very small man 5'3" tall and slim).3. adjustment dial retains coffee bean (whole and broken), the grinder handle does not sit well unless beans are removed from the middle of the adjustment dial, which is awkward. I had to blow air with my mouth to remove the bean which flew…

Pros
  • Simple and easy-to-use interface make grinding fresh coffee beans a breeze
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who are not willing to put in the effort to manually grind

You will not regret buying this!

I have been using this product for about a month now and I am really happy with my purchase. I am glad that I chose the JX pro over the JX as this gave me more control over my grind size. If you are planning to grind for espresso you have to buy the JX pro. This product is well built and does have a premium feel it to.One thing to keep in mind is that the speed at with you grind matters. According to your speed you might have to change your grind size to pull the prefect espresso shot.

Pros
  • Captivating retro design complements any style of kitchen decor
Cons
  • May not be ideal for those who have a small kitchen or limited storage space
