I didn't want to struggle to find a similar sized bathroom fan when the motor failed. So I decided it would be best to find a new fan blade and motor. This worked as a replacement motor for my Nutone 8832/8832SA/8833 bathroom ceiling fan. Very easy part replacement (note: pay attention to a few screws and mounting orientation to make the process easier). I've also replaced the fan blade since I was there and the original showed signs of wear around the spindle location. This new engine is running great so far! It does seem a bit loud on startup, but then the volume drops back to normal levels. Also used with this motor: NuTone Fan Assembly 5901A000.
