Super easy fermentation so far

I'm considering a 5-part fermentation set. You can tell the tin is well made but I had a few questions so I had to contact the UK based manufacturer. First, there's a floating bowl in the airlock that confused me. The rubber stopper is the stopper, and the sheath is the part of the tube that has a thinner tube inside. You put on a wooden cover and then put a plug and airlock in the hole, which are made out of one piece. The floating cup sits on a thinner tube inside the sluice. You fill the airlock 1/2-3/4 full with water to the top of the floating cup and then close the lid again. There are tiny holes in the sluice cover that release the fermentation gases. This wasn't in the instructions so I thought I'd mention it. Also, I didn't have enough food to fill the jar, so I put the cabbage leaf on top of the jalapenos and then put the seeds on top of the cabbage leaf because the jalapenos were swimming around the rocks. I am attaching a photo of it and the gateway. I've just started fermenting and it's only supposed to take 5-7 days so I'll be back after that. **** By the 4th day I felt they were fermented enough and put them in a glass jar with a lid in the fridge but kept the cabbage leaf which they can now keep submerged in water without stones. They will slowly continue to ferment since it's cold and hopefully last for a while.****
