I wouldn't call this a waist trainer. maybe a waist slimmer. It does help to rid your mid section of access water. I wear this shaper daily and it does not have sweat pouring off of me, but it does heat you up and causes your body to perspire. I must say that since i have been wearing this waist shaper. i have lost a few inches off my waist and around my back. The shaper is also long enough to cover my entire mid section (lower belly bulge and back bulges). I am 5'3" 175lbs with a set of 38DDD. I ordered a L and it fits great, but since i have lost some inches, i think i will be ordering a Med.
