I installed this on the inside door of the bathroom where our cat houses are. It was very easy to install, contrary to the how-to comments in the reviews here. Because of these comments, I lost confidence in the template and instead traced the outside edge of the inside of the door, which was too small. So I used the template and reduced the height a bit, which was spot on. I would say if you don't have a decent saw it's going to be a little tricky. I used an oscillating tool and my cut wasn't that straight, but the pet door frame hides any skill or tool flaws and looks nice. At this point I sealed the flap with duct tape and started practicing with treats on both sides. I have 2 smart cats and 1 not so smart cat. Having this door is the best idea I've ever had for keeping that "just poop in a box" smell out of my room. It also reduces garbage tracking.
