I bought this so I can close my bedroom door and the cats aren't blocked. I liked it because it was a soft plastic muffler meant to be less noisy than the one I have in my basement. It made a noise when the clasp was put back in place due to the magnet wiggling back and forth, but I just glued the magnet on and it works fine and makes almost no noise. Excellent door - Very satisfied. I gave it 4 stars just because you follow the instructions/pattern to cut the hole, this creates a lot more area than you need and you have to rely on the screws to stay tight to get the pet door over to keep from the (big) hole. When the screws are loosened, the pet door will fall down, leaving a large gap. I read this in at least one review before purchasing the pet door. EXCELLENT cat door! They used to go in the garage and out to their booths or whatever they do there. I mean what happens there stays there! I installed this on the inside door of the bathroom where our cat houses are. It was very easy to install, contrary to the how-to comments in the reviews here. Because of these comments, I lost confidence in the template and instead traced the outside edge of the inside of the door, which was too small. If you follow the instructions on the box and trace the template you will remove a too large hole in the door. There is no space in the door for fastening screws. The actual hole you drill should be at least 1 inch narrower and an inch shorter than the stupid template. Worst installation guide I've ever come across. I can't believe they didn't fix this apparent flaw in their product, I had to drill new mounting screw holes in the cat door frame and of course they don't fit flush with the door…
