I purchased this after MUCH RESEARCH AND COMPARISON for my 12-yr old for Christmas who indicated she would like an MP3 player from Santa (yes, she still believes). And, I'm not ready to give her a full-fledged phone yet. So, after a TON of research I opted for this device. Upon opening the box, all seemed "new" but after I turned it on and started to poke around I found the following issues: 1) fingerprints already all over the back cover (not mine) as I was careful not to touch it. 2) there were 3 "test" recordings; 2 from some guy "Mark" who was taping a long VLOG about being in Singapore and going to the airport and having breakfast at this particular place and a third that was just music (in English). It took quite a while to figure out how to delete them and honestly, I couldn't repeat it if I tried. 2) I tried to record a message or two using the voice recorder and there was NO WAY to delete them either.no delete button; no menu with a delete option. I even had my husband take a look at it.he couldn't determine how to delete them either, so it was incredibly frustrating to not be able to remove them prior to wrapping the gift. 3). The size was crazy small.I did read the dimensions in the product info on Revain.com, but the size did not jive with the pics of the person holding it in their hand.but that wasn't that big of a deal overall. 4) The operation guide is minimal at best. No mention of how to delete those files either AND it only covers a few of the functions the device offers, not all of them, such as 5. The calculator is there but very very basic and old school functionality 6. FM Radio as terrible. We tried to play a very popular FM statiom here in the Chicagoland suburbs and the device was having trouble locking in on it even when trying to adjust the channel turn the direction of the device (which simply is a poor solution).frustrating! These are just a handful of issues from playing with the device the first 15 minutes. My daughter left to go out of town to visit other relatives for the past 4 days, and thankfully letft it at home, but I'm left feeling sad that "Santa" gave her a CRAPPY gift for Christmas, and now I need to figure out how to return her Santa gift for something worthwhile. I almost opted for a WiFi enabled MP3/MP4 player option with Adroid and wish I had gone that route instead so she could more readily download from Spotify or whatever vs. having to buy songs for the MP3 player. My husband later suggested that we should probably just get her a basic phone but not enable the calling portion so she could download from spotify, etc. directly. I welcome responses, suggestions, fixes, etc. Overall, I do not recommend this device.
