I was shocked at the size of this bass, I ordered medium as it was the recommended size for cockatiels. I gasped when I opened the package! I called an avian specialist I knew and she said my bird was fine. It took Topaz a day or two to decide whether she liked it or not, but she's gotten used to it now and uses it quite a bit. If I had to redo it, I would still go with a smaller size that is 1 inch in diameter. Like sand on a perch, only the claws touch the sand and the delicate feet touch the smooth surface. Well packaged, arrived on time and in excellent condition, my bird is happy. What else do you want to ask!
