They seem to get a bad rap from people who just don't realize they work with different speaker sizes and may need some modifications in different applications. If you are using 6" speakers, mount them to the adapter using the internal mounting pads. If you are using 6 1/2 inch speakers you will need to remove the internal mounting pads with a dermel or other tool so they don't get in the way. I've seen reviews of these two adapters and various columns saying these adapters don't work. I installed new 6 1/2" front door speakers in my 2011 GMC Sierra and after removing the internal spacers they went straight into these adapters! Bada bean, bada boom! Worked perfect, fits perfect and saved a lot of time It would be nice if they had a guide in their pocket to give people an idea of how to use it Will probably eliminate most returns I'm just saying yes.
