I recently moved into a new apartment which had all the tile in the bathroom painted white over the original light blue. One month later, a chunk of paint peeled off in the shower and took a layer of the underlying tile with it. Yuck. At the moment because of COVID-19 restrictions, maintenance is doing nothing but strictly emergency work and that hardly qualifies, so I looked into how to fix it myself. All the touch-up paint I looked at requires a lot of sanding and three days to cure and I'm not particularly handy, but then I bethought myself of the King of MacGyver Repairs: duct tape. Shiny white? Yep. Waterproof? Brilliant! I slapped a piece over the broken paint, rubbed it hard to get any bubbles out et voilà: all fixed up and you can barely see that it's there. I'm sure it won't last forever — duct tape never does — but I'll just put a new piece on when the old one gives out. This tape is strong, but unlike Gorilla Tape, it doesn't fight you when you try to get it off the roll or stick like mad to your skin. I bought the white, but I like it so much that I'm going to get a roll of the black, too. :-D
