I'm slowing down building my travel kit based on the m4/3 ecosystem. My main system is based around an APS-C digital SLR camera. As I already have a well established lens collection for my main system I don't want to spend a lot of money to duplicate my m4/3 lens collection. My main lens is an Olympus 12-100, which is way more than I wanted to spend, but it's the perfect travel zoom. My next favorite focal length is wide angle. As I prefer zoom I was looking for the cheapest option and this lens turned out to be the cheapest option with decent reviews, less than half the new m4/3 9-18. To use this lens on the m4/3 (GX85) body, I bought a cheap adapter. The combination works much better than I expected. Autofocus speed was fine for me, probably slower and louder than the newer m4/3. The optical performance is again quite good. The sharpness in the corners is comparable to the center. In absolute terms, a good full-frame prime lens can easily outperform this lens and I did this test, but it's an apple-to-orange comparison. To make up for the focal length deficit in the travel set, this is a great addition.
