Review on Bosch 0250201039 80006 Glow Plug by Ricky Mills

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would recommend investing in a 12mm ratchet wrench to get these.

Bosch and Beru are the only established glow plug manufacturers for Mercedes OM616/7 diesel engines and the new glow plugs will certainly make a difference when starting the engine in cold weather. You can find them a little cheaper (shipping included) from other suppliers, but why not when you can order them at the best price and have them at your doorstep within 48 hours. All the tools needed for the replacement should be in the tool kit that comes from the factory in the boot of your Mercedes. I would recommend investing in a 12mm ratchet wrench to install and remove them and an 8mm magnetic socket for the nuts that hold the wires to the glow plugs. Oiling a few hours before work and a non-stick coating on new purchases make a big difference. Removing hard jet lines makes this a smooth job. If you don't know how old your glow plugs are, chances are they're genuine and have the "Made in West Germany" label on them. Do yourself a favor and replace them.
