Review on Coflex Extra Deep Cup Sink Basket Strainer With Sealing Lid, 304 Stainless Steel, Brushed Nickel Finish by Matt Williams

This is a pretty great idea for a product, although the construction is pretty crumby.PROS: Basket is in fact stainless steel and so is the lid; the majority of the housing is also steel, but very thin steel. Does have a decent, sleek look though.CONS: The other parts of this item are plastic. The portion of this drain that connects to the p-trap uses a plastic compression fitting which was so flimsy the thread stripped out and popped loose when I would tighten it so I had to trash it. Luckily for me I was able to use the old fitting from my old drain which is a metal compression ring. The threaded loop which pinches the drain basket to the sink is plastic which left me feeling nervous while tightening the basket to the sink. I was worried the threaded piece would break given how crumby the other piece turned out.UPDATE: This has not leaked or given me any issues. It's nice to be able to have something with a basket to catch food on the sink side with no disposal.
