There are so many reusable bags on the market today that I knew from experience that nylon won't tear and that it should be strong, but I wanted something that I knew was even more resistant to sharps edges is and incorrect operation. I'm not the most elegant of people and I'm exceptionally prone to making mistakes. So the canvas was definitely what I wanted! While these bags aren't as big as some of the other products available, they're worth it! We stuffed them to the limit and they worked great! Spicy salad bowls ripping plastic into small pieces, liquor and cans and boxes have been tested with these pouches! And these bags have proven themselves! A small note, we bought 3 bags in total and they fit our needs perfectly without the need for extra plastic bags on our shopping spree. There are only two of us (both adults) but believe me you can fill them with whatever you want without worry! We decided to switch to reusable bags a few months ago, simply because we only used plastic bags to fill our trash after we went shopping (and that's after pulling out the "best" for recycling cat litter). It may take extra effort to remember to pick them up and use them. But, you know what? The best decision we've ever made! Highly recommend and I promise we will buy more of these bags in the future! Haven't tried washing them yet (not heavily soiled) but I'm sure they will be fine. As far as decorating goes, we haven't tried it either, but I'm sure they will respond like most canvases and stand up to the design well.
