It definitely works. Fritzzyme saved me from a terrible situation. I delayed upgrading my reef aquarium's filtration from an old canister filter to a sump (price. uh-huh) and after postponing the monthly cleaning of the canister filter of debris and postponing the water change by 6 months, my system started to run at its peak cascade . Everything in the tank was oozing mucus and the fish began to die. I've had fish for over 6 years - longer than I've had my dog. I did water changes, but it seems to me that the bacteria in the living stone died or died, nothing stopped them. I ordered this material for delivery within 1 day and it arrived the next morning. I unplugged the canister and just ran the printheads at full speed to really move the water and dose it as instructed. In the evening the water cleared and the smell of death from the reservoir disappeared. After 48 hours the polyps started to open and after another 2 water changes the nitrates were close to zero. Needless to say I had a sump installed by the end of the week and the old aquatop was on craigslist. Sand cushions in the swamp, although I used live sand and incorporated live gravel. A little over a month has passed, the water quality is perfect. I have to say I also used NO3:PO4-X to give the new bacteria the carbon they need to build up just in case anyone reading this has the same nightmare. I swore that if the tank went under I would put an end to all this salt water and prayed that it would change course. I want to thank Fritzzyme for saving my tank. For your information. I didn't read the dosage before purchasing so I got lucky when I ordered the gallon size. The dosage for established tanks (restoring good bacteria and adding new stock) is 2 ounces per 5 gallons, so you'll have a lot to go through. I almost gave 4 stars because I don't understand why it can't be more concentrated to be in smaller doses. but after my failure and comeback thanks to Fritzzyme (and I'm not good at concentrating bacteria) they deserve 5 stars. Just make sure you order enough.
