Review on πŸš— Ultimate Control for LandCruiser: TEKONSHA PRODIGY Brake Controller by Kevin Ballard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything ok, but the wiring harness is too short.

I don't know enough about brake controls to say if they are any better than others. In general, the installation was easy, it took about 1.5 hours. I removed the ashtray and installed the Prodigy in that spot. But the included wiring harness is too short. It should be long enough that you can mount it anywhere on your dash, but it's not. I solved this problem by cutting the Prodigy connector off the Tundra harness and using butt joints to add a general purpose harness to its end. This works, but shouldn't be necessary. A three foot harness should be the bare minimum, or a Tekonsha extension harness should be provided. If you mount it closer to the left side of the dash, it won't be a problem.
