One cat, one small dog, no kids in this household. What we plan to use it for is keeping the cat's hair off our fancy new 8-foot tuxedo couch. So it should hold up. A size XL cover would have covered the couch arms arms better, see photos. Cover has an attractive pattern that blends in nicely with our decor. So far it's serving its intended purpose and will be removed whenever we entertain visitors. And thrown back on when visitors depart!
