Each year in August I affix four-inch non-skid tape (different brand) to my outside deck steps, which is very helpful in our icy winter months. This summer I bought the six-inch-wide tape (different brand) and affixed it, according to its instructions, to our deck steps during our August dry season when the wood was not damp. Within a few weeks, the six-inch-wide tape is curling back and lost its adhesive hold. Now September is here with its rains, and the wooded deck steps are to damp to tape more on.
