Filters smelled in house causing sinus problems

First order I bought 'like new' and they were a bit dirty and smelly (like a puff and I sneezed and coughed). I figured it was because they weren't brand new and bought another one, new: it only smelled a little and I figured the smell would go away once it was used. stinks really really bad (spouse walked in and said they could feel their sinuses closing up within seconds). Not sure what's in these filters, but stay away.
