JessEm 07150 Mite-R-Excel II protractor in excellent condition

I have been using this protractor for over a year now and am very happy with it. It's extremely stiff and saved me the cross slide. It has sufficient adjustment to ensure the saw blade is square to the table surface with an accuracy limited only by the adjustment equipment. I highly recommend it. The only potential downside to this angle stop is that it comes out of the box for use only on the left side of the blade. It is possible to modify it to work for right-handers and retain the functionality of all the original left-handers, but this will require a bit of work.1. See photos 1 and 2 for steps 1 through 8.2. Remove the retractable arm from the main arm.3. The insert that supports the retractable stop must be moved from the left side to the right side of the retractable arm. Remove the 5 x 0.8mm set screw.b. Remove the ¼-20 pan head screw and pop-up stopper assembly from the insert.c. Remove the dowel pin that secures the insert by driving a pick out of the small end of the dowel pin. Place a bushing under the large end of the dowel pin to prevent the lever from bending. The insert can now be removed.d. Drill a ¼ inch hole in the top of the channel on the right side of the extendable arm in the same relative position as already on the left side for the large end of the locating pin. This is best done with a drill press. After drilling a ¼" hole in the top of the canal, swap out the ¼" bit for the 11/64" bit and drill the bottom end of the canal so that it fits onto the smaller end of the ie Drill and tap a 5 x 0.8mm set screw on the right side of the retractable arm in the same relative location as the left side.4.Fold the retractable arm over.Drill and tap for the 5 x 0.8mm hex machine screw (which limits the maximum extension of the retractable arm) on the left side in the same relative location as the right side. Install the extension stop insert on the right side of the extension arm. Place the insert into the extension arm until the dowel pin holes align.Drive the pin in until it is flush with the top of the retractable arm.6.Insert a ¼-20 pan head screw and pop-up stop assembly into the in sentence. Tighten the ¼-20 pan head screw until the retractable stop is fairly snug but still moves back and forth along the insert.7. Insert a 5 x 0.8mm set screw into the newly drilled threaded hole near the large end of the adjustment pin and tighten to prevent movement of the ¼-20 pan head screw. Retractable arm modifications are now complete.8. Drill a ¼ inch hole in the main arm on the right side in the same relative location as the left side. This hole is for receiving the retractable bracket mounting assembly.9. A 9/32" x 5-1/8" slot needs to be milled in the bottom of the main arm channel on the left side to accommodate the adjustable angle head index pin slider which is initially on the right side. It is desirable to retain the functionality of the angle head index pin. You can machine this groove with a drill press fitted with a 9/32" bit and drill multiple holes down the length. Must be cleaned with a file or rotary tool (Dremel). The drill should not protrude through the bottom wall of the duct as the set screws that fix the position of the slider will be tightened against this bottom wall (Photo 1). I had a mini cutter and used it to make a slot with a ¼" 4 tooth end mill (Photos 3 and 4). 10. After all modifications are complete, the Mite-R-Excel II angle sensor is ready to be assembled, to work on the right (photo 5) with full functionality of all original features.
