my new mattress is well protected by this cover. I've had it for 1/2 year now and it works well, it's durable too. I've washed it several times and it looks just as good as when I first bought it. So no complaints from me, really good product overall. EDIT [25. July 2013] Amazon wouldn't let me wear a 4.4 so I had to wear a 4. The protector does not cover the underside of the mattress, although this area at the top of the mattress base has nothing to come in contact with, I want to cover this area. Since the material that makes the mattress waterproof is plastic/vinyl based, I ALWAYS wash the protector in cold water. I use bleach for cold wash. (I want to be able to wash in hot water without fear of damaging the plastic)
