Updated 23/02/2018 - I had to replace it again as the shower head started leaking again. I ordered the same, but this time I received what appeared to be a used cartridge pulled from another shower. Signs of wear and tear are present. I am very disappointed and have sent it back for a refund. Must order it directly from Amazon instead of azplumbing. The local store has a generic cartridge for the same price. I found this on Amazon with free shipping. It took me 1 hour to replace my old cartridge. It would be faster if I knew what I was doing. The old one is about 15 years old and was leaking. The tricky part of removing the old one is the ring around it. After so many years of accumulating hard water, I couldn't unscrew it. Watch a youtube video and people suggested using a handsaw to cut. I was skeptical at first but I had no choice as the ring would not open. Bought a handsaw and carefully cut. After it was cut off I used a flathead screwdriver to pry it open. Then simply pull out the old cartridge, insert a new one and mount the new ring (Delta Faucet RP22734, uncoated union nut) again. The leak will now be stopped and the shower handle rotates very smoothly. I'm thinking of replacing another one in the second shower.
