Review on 🔧 ARES 15017 Valve Spring Compressor - Enhance Valve Compression on Overhead Valve Engines with Direct Action Lever by Adam Krueger

I have been a mechanic for over 40 years and have used a wide range of tools and I have to say that while this tool works to a certain extent it is non-intuitive and doesn't work very good. Very badly designed in my opinion. The "trick" is to adjust the position so you can fold the handle (which in turn compresses the valve spring) last, using leverage and mechanical advantage. The problem is that the design doesn't give you very good access to the valve holders. I strongly recommend purchasing a different product as can be found on many other car sites. If you must have one immediately, this will work, but it will be very frustrating.
