This probably won't stop a determined thief, but it will deter someone from stealing your pendant and looking for an easy target. It is very easy to install and block. Care must be taken to ensure that the locking device is installed in the correct direction. It has a ratchet that slides over the locking pin to tighten it to the last possible position. If you attach it in the wrong direction, it will come off. However, in the right way, it is safe. There is still a small gap on the stop bolt on my trailer. I think a couple of regular washers would eliminate the gap and help tighten it. I really like this device for my teardrop pendant as it has targets for thieves in that area.
