It is almost impossible to find a check valve with 1/2 inch inlet and 1/4 inch outlet in a big store. I ran a new 1/2" PEX line behind my fridge and first terminated it with a PEX 1/2 x 3/8 RCA RCA check valve and used a 3/8" to 1/4" compression adapter, so I could connect the braided supply line water for stainless steel ice makers I couldn't get the adapter to stop the weeping water (it includes a nylon washer) even with teflon tape/pastes as I knew that was an area is where you don't want a leak to go unnoticed, I decided to look for a check valve with a 1/2" x 1/4" PEX clamp. Sharkbite fittings I've had no problems in the past so assuming you prepare the pipe properly so when using PEX a clean square cut is the only requirement and is easy to do I installed it last night with no problems the valve seems to be well made. I'm not a fan of valve handles and would have liked a handle with an oversized grip for ease of use. Still an excellent product.
