Not worth it Hassel

I bought these for my 2013 Lincoln MKS. I recently bought this car and bought these ignition coils to fix fairly constant misfires. I installed all six at the same time with six new quality spark plugs per the repair manual. Since the intake manifold has to be removed to install the coils on cylinders 1, 3 and 5, I also bought a branded manifold gasket. The misfires must have been happening for some time as they caused my catalytic converters to fail. Instead of doing this repair myself, I decided to have the cats replaced by a workshop I trust. I did this about two weeks after replacing six coils. During this process, the shop discovered that my #3 ignition coil had failed along with a cracked spark plug, so I asked them to replace that as well. They charged me about $150 to replace that coil, which actually wasn't that bad. The car ran great for about a week, but then the misfires started again. This time in cylinder 1. So. I removed the intake manifold again, replaced the coil with a brand new spark plug (which was also cracked) and since I had to remove the intake manifold I installed a different manifold gasket. It cost about $100 to replace this coil since I did it myself. In about three to four weeks I've already replaced two and I suspect I'll be replacing them all within the next 2-4 weeks. Even more worrisome are cracked spark plugs. When I originally replaced the coils with these, they were the original coils and my spark plugs were not cracked. I can't say with 100% certainty that these coils were the cause of the cracked spark plugs, but it's certainly a big coincidence. With all that has been said. Use a high quality branded ignition coil. You will certainly spend more initially, but save yourself a lot of rework and maybe even your catalytic converters!
