I used to have a Note 5 with this version of this case and loved it. So I bought it again for Note 8. I'm not disappointed. The phone alone makes me feel like you should hold it like a newborn. This case adds thickness and weight. The body itself rises above the screen, so even if you drop it on the screen first you'll still be in good shape. The Note Series phones are so wide and tall that a ring/stand is a must. Some people prefer square kickstands, but the ring just makes the phone more secure and that was one of the main reasons I went with this one. Other reviews say it's very difficult to get the pen, I don't know if I'm just used to the design but it never seemed to be a problem. Outside. There's a bottom flap that covers the charging and headphone ports. I have it on the bedside table at night with both ports connected and there are no problems. If you want your phone to be thin, buy something else. If you like bulk and good protection on your phone, you won't get a better case unless you pay a lot more money.
