Review on Proteus AMBIO: Smart Wifi Temperature Humidity Sensor with Buzzer & Alerts by Joe Michels

It's not often that I get a review on a product that is much better than described. This! My app monitors the ambient temperature in my RV when we're not in it. I REALLY wanted a 12VDC unit, but all I could find was one advertised as 120VAC. The sensor turned out to work on 5VDC and the way it works on 120VAC is to use a standard 1A 5VDC iPhone charger with a USB port. It is very easy to replace an AC charger with a 12V DC car charger! When I discovered that the Wi-Fi network should be 2.4GHz and not 5GHz, connecting to the cloud became a breeze. I then found out that BOTH the high and low points for temperature and humidity alarms are easily programmable. The device sends emails and/or text messages when any of the four trigger points are met. Important for my application, it ALSO sends a warning if there is a communication error, which can happen if the camper loses power and the air conditioning stops. The cloud connection also offers charts with time stamps, as well as the ability to download data. I'm skeptical about the calibration, but I don't have a reference thermometer to compare with, so my assumption was not confirmed at this point.
