Have you ever burned your fingers trying to light a burned out candle with a match? I have, therefore I have it! I was amazed at how well this electronic plasma arc lighter worked. Push the button, press the power button and bring a tiny arc to the wick - voila, it's on fire! This even worked with a candle that uses a piece of wood instead of a wick. (Page 4). I'm sure a fire could break out in an emergency if the right tinder is used. They are NOT waterproof. I would never use this with a flammable liquid (gas, charcoal lighter liquid) as it would be too dangerous. Each comes with a short USB-A to Micro-USB cable to charge the device's internal lithium battery. Any 5V USB phone charger will work. The device has internal overcharge protection, which is a plus. I also liked that it turns off the ignition after about 8 seconds. The instructions are simple and on the packaging. If there is wax or soot on the electrode tips, you should wipe the tip with a dry cloth when the lighter is off. Cooking (black + champagne gold).
