Lessons Learned That Can Help

This thing is a beast. One of the best performing drivers out there, but there are a few pitfalls I found along the way. So here is my little tutorial that I hope will help you. Do not overload the driver. The one I bought was rated at 300 watts and an electrical manual I saw says a transformer should never be charged more than 80%. So that means 240W for this 300W driver.2. Calculate the load and buy the right wiring. Talk to an electrician, watch videos, read all instructions and safety information. Essentially, this driver converts 110 volts (600 watts) to 12 volts, which means 20-30 amps going through the wires. This is a huge amount and requires 10-14 gauge wire. NO standard 24g DC power cords that you might use in hobby projects.3. Put it somewhere with ventilation. When I pocketed mine, it buzzed like no other. Sometimes this is normal, but it can also indicate a bad connection. Make sure you use cables that are rated for flush installation, or just hire a professional to do the installation.4. If the internal fuse/breaker blows, you have connected it incorrectly. Seek professional help or you risk burning your house down.
