Review on πŸ› οΈ ESynic Protractor: The Ultimate Resetting Tool for Woodworking and Construction Projects by Gabriel Salleh

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall good value for money and accuracy with a few quirks.

I have an old house so the protractor helps a lot with measuring for projects. I saw this relatively inexpensive angle finder and decided to give it a try. First, a spare CR2032 battery is included. That's right, on top of what's already in the sonar, you get additional ones. Wow! The goniometer has an on/off button, but it will automatically wake up and start measuring at the slightest movement of the ruler. I'd rather control when it turns on, but that's no big deal. This is fairly accurate compared to another angle finder I have and also after checking some squares that I know are 90 degrees. "However, oddities are beginning to emerge in the field. There is a lock button, but all my attempts to lock the angle while measuring resulted in the ruler moving and changing the angle. I just mark the corner and write it down as it's not a very reliable function. Also, there were a couple of times I was measuring and the unit would "turn off" and then turn back on and zero again, so I had to shut it down. , reset to zero and measure the angle again. I still can't figure out WHY this is happening, but it's happened more than once and I'm fairly familiar with using the angle viewfinder, so I'm not sure what's going on. The angled viewfinder is made entirely of plastic, which is actually not the case. problem and it helps reduce costs. It's a fairly competent tool that's great for day-to-day use, and given the price it's a good buy. In view of the occasional quirks, I would still recommend it as inexpensive, especially if you only need an angled viewfinder occasionally.

Pros
  • Lock button and data storage function
Cons
  • Very expensive
