Perfect for VR! (HP Reverb G2)

With this card I was finally able to connect the new HP Reverb G2 VR headset to a PC with an old motherboard! Although my motherboard (Asus Rampage IV Extreme) has USB 3.0 ports, I was unable to establish a stable connection to the Reverb G2 and finish installing its software. I've experimented with different driver versions with three other third-party USB 3.0/3.1 add-in cards, but couldn't get them to work properly. After reading about this card on the HP Reverb G2 user forum, I tried it and it just works! Windows 10 Pro recognized it and automatically installed the drivers, recognized the VR headset connected to it, installed all the necessary software for Reverb. G2 and allowed the controllers to successfully pair with the headset. As a bonus, unlike some other cards I've tried, this one doesn't require external power from a Molex or SATA connector and gets all the power it needs from a PCIe slot. I put it in a PCIe 1x 2.0 slot (to reserve PCIe 16x 3.0 for the GPUs and NVMe drive) and it works great. It seems to be able to fully exploit the slot limit of 500MB/s (which is the minimum 3x USB bandwidth requirement for a stable G2 connection). I am very happy with this card and would recommend it to any frustrated WMR owner as a remedy for USB connectivity issues. !
