Very good handle. I had several Parker parts waiting as some of the other reviewers suggested and the pen writes beautifully. I'll order a pack of gel refills and just see how they write, but the standard refills are working well so far. It's a firm, sensitive pen with a good weight. The clip is very strong so it won't slip out of your pocket. I haven't had a chance to use it for self defense and I hope I don't have to. This is a solid pen, though, and when the cap is closed properly it can be quite a percussive tool, helping with joint locks if that's your thing and certainly breaking fingers locking and tightening. I am happy with this purchase and happy to know that I have a very good writing instrument that can become a very durable "Kubotan" in a pinch. I am not at all disappointed with this purchase. Good job, Schrade. The price wasn't outrageous and cheaper than some other pens, I had it in my pocket for a week. This is the best"? It's a matter of opinion and personal choice. Whether it will serve the purpose for which it is intended is certain.
