Very well built, can sharpen various tools

I bought this to sharpen my wood turning tools. well constructed and the finish was well above average, especially for bespoke items these days. It was packaged perfectly, although it wasn't in the outer box it arrived in perfect condition. It requires quite a bit of assembly work and there are holes to measure and drill to install the components, but I'm sure anyone who buys an item like this will have no problems. The feature that drew me to this unit compared to others on the market was that it can be configured to sharpen all of my tools, nicks, warps, scrapers, parting tools, etc. No additional components are required to sharpen one of them, as well as my wood chisels. before performance. The documentation does not specify the angle, only the tool type. I would like to see something like "set position #1 to 55 degrees, position #2 to 40 degrees" etc. That way I could sharpen the tool to my liking. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about. in this system. I mounted mine on a 14" x 18" x 3/4" piece of plywood and had to attach a smaller piece of plywood so the sander could lift it to the correct height. The base is big enough for me to punch holes in drill to store different gauges and places for different fasteners and a small bowl of water in case I need to do aggressive grinding and keep the tool cool Overall I am very happy with this addition to my workshop equipment as compared to other systems , which I looked at, the Pro Grind is not only very economical, it also sharpens a wider range of tools.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine
