Review on Fiskars PowerGear Super Pruner/Lopper, 15 Inch by Marfel Fekete

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ultra light in weight and powerful at the same time.

I've never seen a pruner design like this. It is very light and particularly easy to use. Having never used a pruner like this before, I decided to experiment with it to see how it held up. I cut a lot of small to medium diameter dry/dead branches; roots while they were still in the ground and blindly dipping the tool into the dirt; various living branches and twigs, from the smallest to the largest, that could be shoved into the pines; branches covered with mud/sand; and even accidentally got stuck on a few rocks. So far they have worked much better than I expected! I've had to touch up the edge of the blade a few times due to stone chipping, but otherwise they've held up fairly well to use and abuse. I've made at least a thousand cuts and they work like new. I think I'll use them within the limits they were designed for now that my testing period is complete. A great intermediate tool when a one-handed bypass tool isn't enough (or continuous one-handed work is too tiring) and full-size pruning shears are too big and heavy. Importantly, you can use this tool with your arms outstretched (or above shoulder height) for much longer than you can with a heavier pruner. The price I paid around $23 was worth it. I am very happy.
