PowerGear patented gear technology multiplies leverage to give you up to three times more power on every cut. Powers through thick branches that traditional loppers and pruners can’t. Makes cutting dramatically easier than it is with other tools, earning the Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation. Maximum cutting capacity: 1-1/4 inch diameter.

Type of review

These are excellent secateurs, light weight but surprisingly good for cutting over 1" branches on my fruit trees. I bought these for my mom so she can cut without hurting her hands and she loves them. Unlike most fake paid reviews that hijack Revain, this is a real review from someone who actually paid the real price for the item. If you agree that paid reviews and fake positive reviews written in exchange for free or nearly free products ruin the Revain shopping experience and undermine our…

Mostly plastic, so only light wear!

I bought these because I can no longer hold and squeeze the secateurs with one hand. The price is right and the gears make it easy to open and close. They're basically all plastic, so they're only meant for light trimming. I knew what was going on so I wasn't disappointed with the build quality. Actually the quality is good. If it was still possible to use a pair of secateurs for one hand, I wouldn't buy them. If, like me, you have hand/wrist issues (carpal tunnel syndrome, tenosynovitis…

Works very well. - Loppers

Great tool. I've ordered another one in case I lose it. I'm a small woman with a large yard and this was a great tool for trimming bushes and trees of all kinds. Branches that previously required a small handsaw can be trimmed with this tool. I think it advertises the ability to cut 1-1/4 inches. This probably requires more arm/hand strength than mine, but works very well for 1/2-3/4" branches. I'm not saying it can't do that. The handle is larger, but like most tools, it snags Much of the…

Thanks for the lifetime guarantee.

Good thing Fiskars has a lifetime warranty otherwise 1 star. It will not cut 1 inch diameter branches. If you have enough strength for short stems and can cut through a thick branch, this won't happen. Mine broke after only 10 3/4" branches. No, I didn't drop it, I didn't use it as a hammer, I just pushed it onto branches. No twisting. It's not strong. I have a half dozen Fiskars tools and cherish them.Axes, long axes, shears, etc. These are for branches 1/2" or less in diameter, no more…

A slight improvement over regular blades

I like that they are very light. Although they are made of plastic, they are durable. Transmission is decent and adds a bit of power. The disadvantage is that you have to open your arms very wide, even for small cuts. This makes it difficult to use in a confined space. In many situations, if you had longer arms that you didn't have to open as wide, it seems like you're in front. Another issue is that the anvil (which is also plastic) is quite wide, so it's not possible to cut almost flush…

Makes pruning almost easy

When hand shears can get the job done, Fisker's PowerGear is the answer. But if you have shrubs or trees that need pruning, Fiskers says the job will be "three times easier." Not sure how they measure "3x lighter" but secateurs make the job easier. I believe you will be happy with your purchase. We have five acres of woods and would like the trees cut from dead wood so we can walk in the woods. Our original pair of PowerGear secateurs are five years old and still work. like new. Recently my…

Ultra light in weight and powerful at the same time.

I've never seen a pruner design like this. It is very light and particularly easy to use. Having never used a pruner like this before, I decided to experiment with it to see how it held up. I cut a lot of small to medium diameter dry/dead branches; roots while they were still in the ground and blindly dipping the tool into the dirt; various living branches and twigs, from the smallest to the largest, that could be shoved into the pines; branches covered with mud/sand; and even accidentally got…

Excellent for secateurs

As lawn mowers they are great. They're so light I throw them in my backpack and take them to work. When I'm at a property where I know I'll need them, I'll slip them into the back belt loop and hardly notice they're there. while you cut I feel like my blade broke like that when I loaned it to a colleague. http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Gardening-and-Yard-Care/Loppers/PowerGear-Super-Pruner-Lopper-7972 No questions asked, replacement, got new ones today after forgetting I was have applied.
