This is WAY overpriced for what you get. You might be satisfied with this if you are only interested in rich colors. It can do it, but if you're trying to match different lighting or mixing certain colors or anything that looks like white or warm or cool, look elsewhere. Yes it can be used with a Philips system but not very well. This is a VERY inferior product and not that cheap to save money: 1. The adhesive backing is a joke. It sticks to the blue cover, not the back of the light strip.2. Perhaps because the lightstrip material is sticky and doesn't appear to have been mixed properly in the manufacturing process. Dust sticks to it.3. The colors are very rough. Trying to get the same color as other lights in your system is not possible. The Hue system allows you to combine lights in the app to produce the same colors, and that doesn't work with this light bar. The colors are far off and trying to match them is a futile exercise. Even the extension cord doesn't match the original bar it's plugged into. Very disappointed. I order the Philips version. I'll try to find another use for this strip. Update: I installed it in another room with no other color lights and was able to get a preset that isn't too offensive for general use. All other lights in the room are quartz halogen which when dimmed have a very consistent tone and pleasant warmth. Attempting to balance them with that warmth results in an ugly greenish red instead of yellow at best, and it only works as an over-the-top orange or red add-on when set at relatively low levels.
