I've never owned a real beauty blender because I refuse to pay that much money for a face sponge. However, I've tried various cheaper options and have never been impressed. They usually break easily and suck up tons of product. Not this kid! I don't know what the material difference is but this blender is amazing. It applies my makeup much more evenly, doesn't soak up a lot of product and is very easy to clean. I've washed it 10 or 15 times and it doesn't have a single tear or broken spot and it looks and works like new. It's definitely more expensive than other beauty blenders I've tried, but still more affordable than an expensive brand. It was well worth the extra money I spent on it though, I use half the makeup I used to with cheaper blenders that soak up the product. I am very happy with this purchase!
