I just think it was soft. BUT even after cleaning it and trying again small black dots get stuck in my base. This is just terrible. I'm surprised because I've liked other Aeshetica products and I'm VERY disappointed. I've used about 8 other types of blending sponges and NONE of them left stains like this. I love these sponges. They expand underwater and blend my makeup better than other sponges I've tried. The only thing I can say that people might not like the sponge is that it's not as dense as some of the leading sponges like the famous "Beauty Blender" you can get from Sephora because you have a have less dense sponge. UPDATE: I liked it at first and ordered several. I had problems with my last two orders. They tear easily and even leave tiny black dots on my face. I'm so sad. I will not be purchasing this product again which breaks my heart as the first few I had were wonderful little sponges. My new Holy Grail product. Wow. I like it.
