I wanted to give these pedals a try for a commuter bike. I love them. They have a great size, are lightweight, and have good grip. Haven't had any problems with the bearings either. In direct comparison to the OneUp Aluminum ones (which run you 3x the $$; I have them on anther bike), I'd say they have a tad less grip, so perhaps for hardcore MTBing I'd go with the OneUps if cost allows, but they still easily beat a good chunk of more expensive pedals hands down. The only complaint I have is that they can *only* be mounted using a hex wrench. A standard pedal wrench does not work. That's not a problem in general, but it can quickly become one if you manage to strip the hex socket because a pedal is stuck on really tight. So you have no backup there.
