Review on πŸ” DEWALT DW6913 Router Edge Guide with Fine Adjustment and Vacuum Adaptor by Ricky Mayo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The fine adjustment claim is totally misleading

The fine adjustment claim in the product description is wrong. Of course, the adjustment knob can be turned inwards or outwards. And it's pretty stable when blocking. BUT the 0-9 markings on the button are meaningless, and the embossed increments (black on black with no contrast whatsoever) on the metal body are so hard to see or read as to be utterly useless. I have been doing fine woodworking to very tight tolerances for many years and this is NOT suitable for "fine tuning". Dewalt should change this to a micrometer pin and scale that is actually readable. Maybe raise the price if that's justified, but just being cheap and claiming "fine tuning" does a disservice to those of us woodworkers who appreciate and use well-made tools that get the job done without, every time much fuss can be done. . Also, I couldn't find in the box or anywhere on the web that Dewalt published anything other than attaching to router rails. There is nothing at all about calibrating the pin or its thread in inches or millimeters. Spend your money on something other than this item, even if it costs more.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No instructions
